ARCHBISHOP'S CIRCULAR regarding UPDATING for LAY MINISTERS ETC.

Circular Letter No. 19
Series 2009, Directive (Yellow)

TO: THE CLERGY
ARCHDIOCESE OF LINGAYEN-DAGUPAN
PANGASINAN

RE: UPDATING-SEMINAR
FAMILY AND LIFE APOSTOLATE
CHURCH LAY MINISTERS
RELIGIOUS ORGANIZATIONS

Greetings of LOVE and PEACE of CHRIST!

For the past three years, the Lay Formation Center has organized the formation of our Laity through recollections and seminars conducted at the Center.

A review of the Program shows the inherent value they came to understand and live by.

In 2006, we introduced them to the precious teachings "Compendium of the Social Doctrine of the Church". In 2007, they were taught the contents of the "Catechism of the Catholic Church." In 2008, the Most Rev. Renato P. Mayugba, D.D. and the members of the Archdiocesan Biblical Apostolate facilitated their updating with a Module based on the book of Exodus.

This 2009, the Family and Life Apostolate of the Archdiocese, headed by Fr. Winston Estrada, will facilitate the Updating-Seminar of the Lay Ministers from 15 August to 5 December 2009. The theme, workshop and activities of this "Seminar on the Family" will be based on the above said Compendium.

May I once again encourage your good selves to remind the members of the Laity concerned, to presence the said Formation Program. Please feel free to invite other lay groups interested in their formational needs to coordinate with LFC Director so that they can benefit from the services of the Center precisely built and established for their Christian welfare.

The particulars - dates and schedules - of Programs will be disseminated by LFC after a meeting with the representatives from the different Parishes, scheduled on 25 July 2009, at two o'clock PM.

Very sincerely in the GOOD LORD,
(SGD.) + OSCAR V. CRUZ, D.D.
Archbishop

MADRIGAL SINGERS @ LFC!

The Madrigal Singers (ALUMNI MADZ - Teresian Association) stayed at LFC for a night because of an engagement in the area. After seeing the chapel, the group spontaneously lifted their hearts and voices in singing a beautiful piece for the Lord - "Love is the Answer." Enjoy!

This is an (amateur) video, just be sure to turn on your speakers to moderate volume for optimal effect.

EDNAS SAN CARLOS - First Year HS

First Year High School Sections Pearl and Topaz of Ednas School of San Carlos experienced having a recollection at LFC for the first time today, the 17th of July 2009. Typhoon "Isang" was lashing Pangasinan as well as Northern Luzon, but the students were focused on the recollection. The LFC staff was impressed about the students' natural attitudes of joy and playfulness.

The recollection (class encounter) was, as usual, culminated by the Eucharistic Celebration and Lunch by the Tondaligan Beach.

THE HARVEST IS GREAT!

This is the fifth time we harvested "atis" (see below for translation) from our small garden here at LFC. The fruit bearing trees (guyabano, santol, guava, lanzones, rambutan and others) were given by Fr. Mario's mother in December 2005. Now, they are bearing fruits...

Anona squamosa linn. is a.k.a. "atis" or "yates" is called "sweet apple" or sweetsop" in English.
