NOVELTIES 2010

After five years, the frontage of LFC is finally developed. We shall install a signage in front, and put a statue of a saint to welcome our guests to a spiritual experience in the center.

The LFC signage at the center of the park. We are still awaiting a donor for a statue of San Lorenzo Ruiz to be enshrined before the letter, "L"

The Villa San Rafael - Clergy Retirement House is beside the LFC building, and will soon be operational. It will be blessed on the feast of San Lorenzo Ruiz this year, which is also LFC's fifth anniversary.

THE MAINTENANCE OF THE LFC ROOF

Sometimes, we think that establishing an institution like LFC (or a chapel or church for that matter) is completed when the building is constructed and finished. We often forget that maintenance is equally important and also costly. The 5-year-old roof of LFC badly needs repair and cleaning (is it because of substandard quality of materials?) so we are trying to save it from further damage by repainting it.

THE SKY IS BLUE!

The tautology is intended. After almost 60 hours of unending rains, Bonuan at this time - 10 October 2009 - is enjoying the blue sky. Blue is the color of hope for this day - as the blue sky points out that there is no rain. Our hearts and minds at LFC are all with our fellow Pangasinenses in San Fabian, Mangaldan, San Jacinto, Mapandan, Manaoag, Sta. Barbara, Calasiao, Dagupan centro, Bayambang, Bautista and Basista who are terribly affected by the flooding caused by the rain and the release of water from San Roque Dam.

The ORATIO IMPERATA is below. Let us continue to pray....

RAIN, RAIN, GO AWAY!

This week and weekend, LFC is scheduled to house several important events, but due to the rains, have been re-scheduled or cancelled. Let us pray that the rains would stop so that our programs will push through. More than that, however, let us pray for the many victims also here in Pangasinan. The heavy downpour of rain is causing floods and threaten to destroy many homes and agricultural lands. The release of water from San Roque Dam is adding more injury....

Here is ORATIO IMPERATA by Archbishop Oscar V. Cruz (www.ovc.blogspot.com)

OH, GOD OUR FATHER:

IN FAITH WE ACKNOWLEDGE YOUR PATERNAL CARE OVER US, YOUR SONS, DAUGHTERS AND CHILDREN. IN HOPE WE TRUST IN YOUR DIVINE PROVIDENCE OF GIVING US WISDOM AND COURAGE AS WE FACE THE CHALLENGES OF LIFE. IN LOVE WE INVOKE YOUR HELP AND GUIDANCE DURING THESE DIFFICULT DAYS OF DEATH AND DESTRUCTION IN OUR DEAR COUNTRY.

OURS IS A PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING FOR ONCE AGAIN REMINDING US THAT OURS IS AN IMPERFECT WORLD, THAT HEAVEN IS NOT ON EARTH AND THAT NATURE EVERY NOW AND THEN TELLS US NOT TO ABUSE HER. OURS TOO IS A PRAYER OF REPENTANCE FOR CALLING UPON YOU WHEN WE ARE IN NEED AND DESPERATION BUT FORGETTING YOU IN FAVORABLE TIMES AND PLEASING OCCASIONS. OURS AS WELL IS A PRAYER OF PETITION AS WE SAY:

GRANT ETERNAL PEACE TO THOSE WHO LOST THEIR LIVES. EMBRACE THE CHILDREN WHO DIED IN THEIR INNOCENCE. HELP THOSE WHO ARE HURT AND CURE THOSE WHO ARE SICK.

ENCOURAGE THOSE WHO SUFFER THE DESTRUCTION OF THEIR HOMES AND PROPERTIES, AND TO ONCE AGAIN STAND UP AND REBUILD THEIR FUTURE.

BLESS
ALL THOSE WHO EXTEND THEIR HELPING HANDS TO THOSE IN NEED OF FOOD, SHELTER AND CLOTHING, WHO SHARE THEIR TIME, TALENTS AND RESOURCES WITH OTHERS.

INSPIRE
MORE PEOPLE TO BE MEN AND WOMEN FOR THEIR NEIGHBORS, CONVINCED THAT THE MORE THEY ARE FOR OTHERS, THE TALLER THEY STAND BEFORE YOU.

SPARE
US PLEASE FROM OTHER NATURAL DISASTERS AND DEVASTATIONS IF THIS BE ACCORDING TO YOUR WILL AND FOR OUR OWN SPIRITUAL GOOD AND GROWTH.

AMEN AND AMEN.

NOVELTIES

Due to the suggestions of our patrons, we have done our best to respond positively by providing the following:

MORE TREES. Actually, we just needed more time. We planted all these in 2005-2006. More than 1000 trees (narra, acasia, coconut, mahogany, paper tree, fruit bearing trees, picus benjamina a.k.a. balete, and almost a hundred palm trees.)

A CONFERENCE TABLE. This is located on the second floor lobby.

CHAIRS WITH CUSHIONS. We understand the little inconvenience of sitting on a hard wood armchair for one whole day. The comfort of cushion can make the experience more convenient for sleeping.... uhhh... listening.

AIRCONDITIONED DORMITORIES. We could not afford this, but somehow we have managed with a lot of help from our patrons who gave us huge groups to support the project.

THANKS TO ALL OUR PATRONS FOR SUPPORTING LFC. We promise to give you the BEST PLACE on EARTH to serve your spiritual needs. Of course, our LOW RATES can be more convincing. See you again... or for those new groups, see you soon!
