Retreat for COLLEGE Graduates

Tomorrow, memorial of our Lady of Lourdes, we shall be facilitating a retreat for college graduating students of St. Columban's in Lingayen, here at LFC.

We often give recollections to high school and elementary school students because the program of formation in Catholic schools require the spiritual exercises. It is good to start their spiritual formation early.

In our experience, recollections and retreats have more meaning if given to Catholics who are older. It is like our experience when we facilitated the retreat of some nursing students who were to take the board exams last year, or our common experiences with teachers and lay ministers of the word and of holy communion this year.

We therefore recommend to our patrons to consider organizing retreats for college students, young professionals and so on. LFC can help. We can provide speakers and even organize the program. A sample of our program is that which we designed for tomorrow's group:

8:00 AM -Registration
9:00 - Orientation: WHAT IS A RETREAT?
10:00 - Break/Reflection
10:30 - First Session: LOOKING FOR GOD
12:00 - Lunch Break/Siesta
2:00 - Second Session: JESUS: TRUTH, WAY and LIFE
3:30 - Break/Reflection
4:00 - Third Session: HAPPINESS
5:00 - Penitential Rite and Confessions
6:00 - Eucharistic Celebration
7:30 - Dinner
8:30 - Reflection and Sharing

Next Morning
6:00 - Nature Walk (by the Tondaligan Beach)
7:00 - Breakfast at the Beach/Community Celebration

We hope to see you soon!

2009-2010 MODULE for Retreats and Recollections

Fr. Mario DC Sanchez, LFC Director, starts a new module for Retreats and Recollections this June 2009. It is based on Matthew's Sermon on the Mount. It is hoped that at the end of the experience, the participants would grow in their:

flair for PRAYER
yearning for LEARNING
attitude of GRATITUDE

It is to be remembered that Catholic Spirituality could be summed up in for brief and memorable axioms:

LOVE is POSSIBLE
EVIL is REVERSIBLE
FORGIVENESS is AVAILABLE
and HOPE is REAL.

Thanks to Bill Sneck, SJ for these wonderful inspirations (In Partnership, MD, USA: Summer 2004, pp. 12f.).
