Updating-Seminar for LAY MINISTERS (Batch 1)

August 22, 2009 - At the Lay Formation Center, the Family and Life Apostolate of the Archdiocese of Lingayen-Dagupan, headed by Fr. Winston Estrada, facilitated the seminar for Lay Ministers on the FAMILY.

126 participants from the parishes of Our Lady of Purification (Binmaley), Our Lady of the Rosary (Manaoag), and Holy Family (Sta. Barbara) attended the seminar.

The highlight of the seminar is a conference given by Fr. Winston and the sharing of experiences in the family at the end of the day. The sharing happens for the first time at LFC in the formation given to the Lay Ministers, and the initial experience informs us that it needs more time than the hour alotted.

ARCHBISHOP'S CIRCULAR regarding UPDATING for LAY MINISTERS ETC.

Circular Letter No. 19
Series 2009, Directive (Yellow)

TO: THE CLERGY
ARCHDIOCESE OF LINGAYEN-DAGUPAN
PANGASINAN

RE: UPDATING-SEMINAR
FAMILY AND LIFE APOSTOLATE
CHURCH LAY MINISTERS
RELIGIOUS ORGANIZATIONS

Greetings of LOVE and PEACE of CHRIST!

For the past three years, the Lay Formation Center has organized the formation of our Laity through recollections and seminars conducted at the Center.

A review of the Program shows the inherent value they came to understand and live by.

In 2006, we introduced them to the precious teachings "Compendium of the Social Doctrine of the Church". In 2007, they were taught the contents of the "Catechism of the Catholic Church." In 2008, the Most Rev. Renato P. Mayugba, D.D. and the members of the Archdiocesan Biblical Apostolate facilitated their updating with a Module based on the book of Exodus.

This 2009, the Family and Life Apostolate of the Archdiocese, headed by Fr. Winston Estrada, will facilitate the Updating-Seminar of the Lay Ministers from 15 August to 5 December 2009. The theme, workshop and activities of this "Seminar on the Family" will be based on the above said Compendium.

May I once again encourage your good selves to remind the members of the Laity concerned, to presence the said Formation Program. Please feel free to invite other lay groups interested in their formational needs to coordinate with LFC Director so that they can benefit from the services of the Center precisely built and established for their Christian welfare.

The particulars - dates and schedules - of Programs will be disseminated by LFC after a meeting with the representatives from the different Parishes, scheduled on 25 July 2009, at two o'clock PM.

Very sincerely in the GOOD LORD,
(SGD.) + OSCAR V. CRUZ, D.D.
Archbishop
