Recollection of Lay Ministers (March 21-22)
During the annual recollection of the Lay Ministers in the Archdiocese, we have always encouraged the participants to make a personal evaluation regarding their service to their parishes. As servants of the altar, they are also called "to be witnesses of the word to the world."
This year, we are asking them to indicate how many years they have been serving as "Lay Ministers." I was inspired when I saw one lector (Mrs. Juliana Bravo of Our Lady of Purification Parish, Binmaley) computing the years from 1965 to the present year. That's 44 years!!!
Thanks to all the Lay Ministers! Some of them have been serving the Church even before we (priests serving their parishes) were born.

PRAYER for St. Paul's Intercessions (by St. Pauls Philippines)
Prayer for our
St.
watch over with love, this nation and its people.
Your heart expanded so as to welcome
and enfold all peoples in the loving embrace of peace.
Now from heave, may the charity of Christ urge you
to enlighten everyone with the light of the Gospel,
and to establish the kingdom of love.
Inspire vocations,
sustain those working for the Gospel,
render all hearts docile to the Divine Master.
May this nation ever more find in Christ
the Way and the Truth and the Life.
May its light shine before the world,
and may it always seek the
Holy Apostle, enlighten, comfort and bless us all.
Amen.
THANKS TO THE ARCHBISHOP!
We thank our dear Archbishop, Most Rev. Oscar V. Cruz, DD, for giving us the statue of St. Paul from the Chancery. As everybody knows, this saint with the scriptures (sign of the epistles he wrote to the different Christians communities) and the sword (the word of God, like a double-edged-sword) is the man who was Christ's persecutor turned Christ's most ardent apostle.
