TEEN CREED
(After recollections of young people, we found this nice poem for reflection.)
Teen Creed
Don’t let your parents down,
they brought you up.
Be humble enough to obey,
you may give orders someday.
Choose companions with care,
you become what they are.
Choose only a date who would make a good mate.
Be master of your habits, or they will master you.
Don’t be a showoff when you drive,
drive with safety and arrive.
Don’t let the crowd pressure you,
stand for something or you’ll fall for anything.

THE SKY IS BLUE!
The tautology is intended. After almost 60 hours of unending rains, Bonuan at this time - 10 October 2009 - is enjoying the blue sky. Blue is the color of hope for this day - as the blue sky points out that there is no rain. Our hearts and minds at LFC are all with our fellow Pangasinenses in San Fabian, Mangaldan, San Jacinto, Mapandan, Manaoag, Sta. Barbara, Calasiao, Dagupan centro, Bayambang, Bautista and Basista who are terribly affected by the flooding caused by the rain and the release of water from San Roque Dam.
The ORATIO IMPERATA is below. Let us continue to pray....

RAIN, RAIN, GO AWAY!
This week and weekend, LFC is scheduled to house several important events, but due to the rains, have been re-scheduled or cancelled. Let us pray that the rains would stop so that our programs will push through. More than that, however, let us pray for the many victims also here in Pangasinan. The heavy downpour of rain is causing floods and threaten to destroy many homes and agricultural lands. The release of water from San Roque Dam is adding more injury....
Here is ORATIO IMPERATA by Archbishop Oscar V. Cruz (www.ovc.blogspot.com)
OH, GOD OUR FATHER:
IN FAITH WE ACKNOWLEDGE YOUR PATERNAL CARE OVER US, YOUR SONS, DAUGHTERS AND CHILDREN. IN HOPE WE TRUST IN YOUR DIVINE PROVIDENCE OF GIVING US WISDOM AND COURAGE AS WE FACE THE CHALLENGES OF LIFE. IN LOVE WE INVOKE YOUR HELP AND GUIDANCE DURING THESE DIFFICULT DAYS OF DEATH AND DESTRUCTION IN OUR DEAR COUNTRY.
OURS IS A PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING FOR ONCE AGAIN REMINDING US THAT OURS IS AN IMPERFECT WORLD, THAT HEAVEN IS NOT ON EARTH AND THAT NATURE EVERY NOW AND THEN TELLS US NOT TO ABUSE HER. OURS TOO IS A PRAYER OF REPENTANCE FOR CALLING UPON YOU WHEN WE ARE IN NEED AND DESPERATION BUT FORGETTING YOU IN FAVORABLE TIMES AND PLEASING OCCASIONS. OURS AS WELL IS A PRAYER OF PETITION AS WE SAY:
GRANT ETERNAL PEACE TO THOSE WHO LOST THEIR LIVES. EMBRACE THE CHILDREN WHO DIED IN THEIR INNOCENCE. HELP THOSE WHO ARE HURT AND CURE THOSE WHO ARE SICK.
ENCOURAGE THOSE WHO SUFFER THE DESTRUCTION OF THEIR HOMES AND PROPERTIES, AND TO ONCE AGAIN STAND UP AND REBUILD THEIR FUTURE.
BLESS ALL THOSE WHO EXTEND THEIR HELPING HANDS TO THOSE IN NEED OF FOOD, SHELTER AND CLOTHING, WHO SHARE THEIR TIME, TALENTS AND RESOURCES WITH OTHERS.
INSPIRE MORE PEOPLE TO BE MEN AND WOMEN FOR THEIR NEIGHBORS, CONVINCED THAT THE MORE THEY ARE FOR OTHERS, THE TALLER THEY STAND BEFORE YOU.
SPARE US PLEASE FROM OTHER NATURAL DISASTERS AND DEVASTATIONS IF THIS BE ACCORDING TO YOUR WILL AND FOR OUR OWN SPIRITUAL GOOD AND GROWTH.
AMEN AND AMEN.

Regional Meeting of Catechetical Leaders
Despite the heavy rains, the Northern Luzon Catechetical Council Meeting pushed through at the Lay Formation Center. Those who have been severely affected by the typhoon "Pepeng" in the Ilocos Region were not able to make it. Bishop Artemio Rillera, the regional head, and Fr. Andres Cosalan led the meeting.
