PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

By public transport (From Manila): If you take Victory Liner or Five Star Buses, get off at the terminal and you will immediately find jeepneys to Bonuan. (From the North) - Get off in Damortis or Urdaneta (whichever is nearer for you), and take a bus to Dagupan. You will find Bonuan jeepneys in downtown Dagupan.

There are three destinations of the jeepneys to Bonuan. Bonuan Tondaligan goes to the Beach. Bonuan Boquig goes towards the south. Bonuan Binloc towards the east.

If you take Bonuan Tondaligan and Bonuan Boquig jeepneys, get off at the Amigo Gas station junction. You may walk (200 meters) to LFC or take a tri-bike if you have baggages. The Bonuan Binloc jeepneys stop in front of the LFC gate. Fare is the usual minimum rate (9 pesos).

Driving FROM THE SOUTH (Metro Manila)

Metro Manila is about 200 kilometers to Dagupan City. It is best to take NLEX and SCTEX northbound.

Tarlac City to Dagupan City is about 80 kilometers if you take Romulo Highway (Tarlac, Sta. Ignacia, Camiling, Bayambang, Malasiqui, Calasiao). There is also less traffic along this route.

If you take Mc Arthur Highway from Tarlac City, it is about 90 kilometers to Dagupan City (Gerona,Paniqui, Moncada, Villasis, urdaneta, Sta. Barbara and Calasiao).

In Dagupan, upon arriving at the junction (where you will see Jolibee and BPI in front of each other - this is the only place in the whole Dagupan where these two are in front of each other in a junction), go straight (towards north). You will pass University of Pangasinan and Collegio de Dagupan on your left, Nepo Mall on your right, a long bridge, a short bridge, Petron on your right, Caltex on your left. Then you will arrive at a minor junction where you will find Amigo Gas station on your left. Go straight (slow down) and you will find the College Seminary on your right, and the parish church. LFC is next to the parish Church.

From the junction in Dagupan to LFC, it is just 4.2 kilometers or 10 minute drive.

Driving FROM THE NORTH (Ilocos Region, La Union or Baguio)

Vigan City to Dagupan City is 200 kilometers. Baguio City to Dagupan City is 70 kilometers.

When going to Dagupan City from the North, take the Mc Arthur Highway/Manila North Road and turn east at the junction in DAMORTIS, Sto. Tomas, La Union. Damortis to LFC is about 25 kilometers.

Follow that road (Quezon Highway), passing by the town of San Fabian (church on your right). Shortly after the town is a bridge. Slow down because you will take a right westward turn, towards Bonuan. From that turn to LFC, there are 6 kilometers. The road is long and straight, and the drive should be short. When you see BHF warehouse on your right, LFC will be next on your left.

Vocation and Mission of LFC

Christifidelis Laici, the 1985 Post-Synodal Apostolic Exhortation of Pope John Paul II on the Vocation and Mission of the Lay Faithful in the Church and in the World, speaks very eloquently about the formation of the lay faithful. According to this document, the laity should receive a complete and integrated formation, one which bears its fruit in every sphere of their existence and activity.

1) The spiritual formation of the laity – their continual growth in communion with Christ is nourished by the help to holiness offered by the Church.

2) Doctrinal formation – which will enable them to explain to the world the reason for their hope. Systematic catechesis is also necessary.

3) A proper formation of a social conscience, especially in the Church’s social teaching.

4) An integrated program of formation that cultivates the human values and skills necessary for the lay faithful’s apostolic activities.

God is the first formator of the laity. The Church for her part also takes part in forming the lay faithful through the ministry of teaching and celebration of the sacraments. The Lay Formation Center exists for this purpose.
