16 July 2010 - Dagupan City. The 10th Annual Meeting of Catechetical Ministers (AMCM) organized by Episcopal Commission on Catechesis and Catholic Education (ECCCE) was held at the Lay Formation Center of the Archdiocese of Lingayen-Dagupan.
"Catechesis by the Family, with the Family, and for the Family," the theme of this year's meeting celebrated the twenty-fifth anniversary of Familiaris Consortio, advocated for a more systematic catechesis on the family and also promoted the value of the family as an agent of catechesis.
Invited speakers were Fr. Melvin Castro (Familiaris Consortio), Fr. Jesus Toto Mana-ay (Catechesis by the Family in the BEC context), the Couples of Christ representatives (Catechesis by the Family), Conchit Cellan and Winnie Vicoy (Apostolate for Family Consecration) and Fr. Greg Gasto (SAFE).
The 170 participants from all over the country were led by the Auxiliary Bishop of Antipolo, Most Rev. Francis de Leon and the Bishop of San Fernando La Union, Most Rev. Artemio Rillera.
Sr. Jesus Enginco, OP said that there were 49 priests, 3 bishops, 68 sisters and more than 70 lay men and women catechists who attended the annual meeting in Dagupan.
The last day of the meeting was for a tour of some beautiful spots in Pangasinan, the Lingayen Capitol Area, the Hundred Islands and a pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady of the Rosary in Manaoag, Pangasinan.
The Most Rev. Socrates B. Villegas, the Archbishop of Lingayen-Dagupan is also the Chariman of the Episcopal Commission on Catechesis and Catholic Education.
